CEO IT award winners announced
The trio of executives brings to 18 the number of CEOs who have received the award, which was created in 2003. Two executives were honored in 2003; three in 2004, three in 2005, one in 2006, three in 2007, and three in 2008.
The award recognizes healthcare CEOs who demonstrate leadership and a commitment to using information technology to advance their organizations’ goals. A five-judge panel consisting of two CEOs chosen by Modern Healthcare and three chief information officers or IT experts chosen by HIMSS selected Green, Murphy and Spezia from a pool of 48 nominees.
Modern Healthcare and HIMSS announced the seventh annual CEO IT Achievement Award competition on Nov. 10, 2008, and the deadline for submissions was Dec. 19, 2008. The judges evaluated the nominations in January with the three winners determined on Jan. 12. Modern Healthcare will profile this year’s recipients in a special section to be published in the magazine’s Feb. 16 issue.
