Wholesale hospital prices held steady during the last month of 2008, compared with a 0.1% drop in November 2008, according to preliminary Producer Price Index data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. PPI measures the amount of payment received for provided goods and services.
For the 12 months ended in December, wholesale hospital prices rose 1.5% compared with 3.8% the previous year.
Wholesale physician-office prices increased 0.2% in December 2008. For the 12-month period ended in December, prices grew 1.2% compared with 4% in the year-ago period.
