Chicago-based Navigant Consulting announced that it has purchased the Bard Group, a Needham, Mass.-based healthcare consultancy founded in 1997 by physician Marc Bard.
No terms of the deal were released. According to Navigant’s Web site, the company generated revenue of $767 million in 2007.
A news release noted that the acquisition of Bard Group will specifically improve Navigant’s healthcare practice, particularly in the area of “provider integration strategy.”
Jennifer Moreno, Navigant’s executive director of investor relations, said Marc Bard will continue in a leadership role and work with the existing leadership team at Navigant’s healthcare practice.
In the release, Bard noted that the deal will allow his company to “craft service offerings which are beyond what any other consulting firm has to offer.”
While the home page of the Bard Group’s Web site does not mention the company’s acquisition by Navigant, it does contain an item titled “We are growing—and hiring!” The item’s link lists five available consulting positions.
