The National Priorities Partnership, a partnership of 28 groups, planned to release the specific goals it will strive to meet in improving targeted areas of healthcare on Nov. 17. The partnershipconvened by the National Quality Forumexplains the goals in its report, Aligning Our Efforts to Transform Americas Healthcare Goals. The partnership members have agreed to think beyond the interests of their individual groups to collaborate on a core set of improvements. The partners named six goals: eliminate waste while ensuring the delivery of appropriate care; engage patients and their families in managing health and making decisions about care; ensure patients receive well-coordinated care across all providers, settings and levels of care; guarantee appropriate and compassionate care for patients with life-limiting illnesses; improve the health of the population; and improve the safety and reliability of Americas healthcare system.
