West Shore Medical Center in Manistee, Mich., has been ISO-certified for seven years but only recently through DNV (DNV setting new standard, Oct. 27, p. 6). The hospital previously was certified through two other organizations. Currently, the hospital is Medicare-certified through a state program, not through DNV. (Read related letter, p. 21.)
A Nov. 3 story about the implementation of the new federal disease-coding set known as ICD-10 (p. 10) should have stated that the American Hospital Association joined with the Advanced Medical Technology Association and the American Health Information Management Association in Oct. 28 letters sent to members of Congress on the subject.
