Medical-products manufacturer Becton, Dickinson and Co., Franklin Lakes, N.J., has appointed Vince Forlenza, 55, president, according to a news release. The company has also appointed David Elkins, 40, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Forlenzas and Elkins appointments become effective Jan. 1, 2009, and Dec. 1, 2008, respectively. Both men will report to Becton Dickinson Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Edward Ludwig.
In his new post, Forlenza, who joined Becton Dickinson in 1980, will oversee the companys three business segments, international business and quality functions. Elkins, who joins Becton Dickinson from drugmaker AstraZeneca, will be responsible for executive management and oversight of global financial operations. -- by Shawn Rhea
