Ashley Johnson has been named chief financial officer of Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville (Fla.), taking the top financial role at a facility in the midst of several capital projects.
Johnson, 39, comes to the 339-bed HCA hospital after leaving a CFO position at the companys 208-bed Central Florida Regional Hospital, Sanford. The move to Memorial Hospital is effective immediately. Johnson is replacing Rodney VanPelt, who was promoted within HCA to a job as CFO of the newly formed South Atlantic Division, which is based in Charleston, S.C. and includes Jacksonville, HCA spokeswoman Linda Moseley said.
At Memorial Hospital, Johnsons responsibilities will include financial oversight of construction of the ongoing $80 million patient tower and associated renovations, and the construction of a new wing in the hospitals Heart Center. -- by Joe Carlson
