Health Level 7, the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based standards development organization, announced the results of the election of a new chairman, whose term will begin in 2010, and of four members to its board of directors, whose two-year terms begin in 2009. Robert Dolin, M.D., 49, founder of Semantically Yours, a healthcare consulting firm based in Irvine, Calif., was elected to serve as HL7 chairman for 2010-2011 and chairman-elect in 2009. Previously, Dolin was a La Palma, Calif.-based member of the Internal Medicine Department at Kaiser Permanente. The newly elected HL7 directors are: Stanley Huff, M.D., chief medical informatics officer for Intermountain Healthcare, Salt Lake City; and Donald Mon, vice president, practice leadership, for the American Health Information Management Association, Chicago; secretary, Jill Kaufman, program director, healthcare standards, IBM Corp., Armonk, N.Y.; and affiliate director, Catherine Chronaki, who is a member of the board of directors of HL7 Greece.
