Meridian Surgical Partners, based in Brentwood, Tenn., acquired a partnership interest in the Northwest NeuroSpine Institute, an ambulatory surgical center with two operating-rooms located in Eugene, Ore., with four physician partners. No financial terms were disclosed. Northwest Neurospine opened in July 2006, and it is Meridian Surgical Partners ninth ASC acquisition since its founding by David Buddy Bacon Jr., Kenneth Hancock and Catherine Kowalski in 2006 with the help of $75 million from the Atlanta-based private-equity firm Arcapita. The founding trio has remained at Meridian, and they continue to hold the positions of chief executive officer, president and chief operating officer, respectively. Its facilities are located in California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Nebraska, Pennsylvania and Texas.
