Medical-device maker Hill-Rom, Batesville, Ind., had paid $183 million to acquire Liko, a Lulea, Sweden-based manufacturer of lifts and slings used to move patients. The deal closed Oct. 1, according to a news release.
Hill-Rom financed the purchase using cash and available credit. The acquisition is part of an ongoing growth strategy, according to company officials. Liko generated approximately $75 million in revenue during its fiscal 2008. -- by Shawn Rhea
