Nancy Kremer announced she will resign as president and chief executive officer of St. Luke Hospitals in northern Kentucky when a merger with Covington, Ky.-based St. Elizabeth Medical Center closes, which is expected in the coming months.
Kremer has held various positions, including senior vice president and vice president of patient services, for the two St. Luke facilities223-bed St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas, and 161-bed St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. A spokeswoman said she could not provide Kremers age.
St. Luke has struggled for more than two years to pull out of the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati and in September reached a memorandum of understanding that should end the legal dispute and allow the merger with St. Elizabeth, which has two hospitals on three campuses. Neither organization would say whether Kremers position would be filled following the merger. -- by Gregg Blesch
