Delaware state Rep. Bethany Hall-Long is co-sponsoring legislation tightening the rules for Internet drug sales. She said the bill addresses "rogue pharmacies."
The legislation requires a legitimate doctor-patient relationship for prescription drug sales.
Penalties include fines up to $100,000 and up to 25 years in prison for Internet pharmacy operators if a client dies or is severely injured.
Purchasers could face up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine for buying drugs online without a prescription.
