The American Hospital Association, Chicago, reported income of $16.5 million on revenue of $109.6 million for the year ended Dec. 31, 2007, its yearly tax filing shows. The trade groups income jumped roughly 48% from the prior year as revenue, which rose 8.9%, easily outpaced expenses, which climbed 3.9%. Membership dues accounted for roughly 62% of the associations revenue, down slightly from 65% the prior year.
According to the AHA's Form 990, Richard Umbdenstock, president and chief executive officer, had a salary of $799,139 and total compensation, which includes benefits and expense allowance, of $1.3 million in 2007.
