Mary Alice Annecharico was named senior vice president and chief information officer of University Hospitals, Cleveland, the health system announced.
Annecharico, who declined to provide her age, served previously as CIO of the School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and as practice director for First Consulting Group, Philadelphia. She is a fellow in the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and holds a masters degree in organizational dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelors degree from St. Josephs College.
At University Hospitals, Annecharico will manage the health systems entire information technology strategic planning and implementation projects, including the $88 million electronic health-record project. A spokesman for the health system said Annecharico will work closely with Holly Miller, a physician who was brought on as chief medical information officer last year to oversee the EHR project.
