Regarding Docs should remember who helped them:
It seems to me that physicians helped the Democrats pass a bill, H.R. 6331, that otherwise would be ridiculed and derided by many proponents of healthcare choices as a special-interest pork barrel for pharmaceutical and durable medical-equipment companies, and dealt a blow to nongovernmental-run healthcare choices, among others.
If the Democrats had not lumped the physician sustainable-growth-rate Band-Aid into this bill, it would not have passed the Senate at all, in my opinion. To not have fixed the SGR and in 18 months hit physicians with a cut of more than 20% could be a calculated Democratic policy to throw the healthcare system into turmoil and allow the Democratic majority to ride in on a governmental healthcare solution that will hurt physicians and patients in the long run. The Republicans may have been painted as the bad guy in this recent battle, but the Democrats are not our knights in shining armor.
