John Dineen has been appointed president and chief executive officer of GE Healthcare, and he will work out of the companys London headquarters.
Dineen, 45, has been with General Electric Co. for 22 years and, since 2005, worked as president and CEO of GE Transportation. Prior to that, Dineen was the vice president and general manager of plastics at GE Advanced Materials. He also worked as general manager of GE Power Equipment, manager of finance for GE Asia in Hong Kong, and president of GE Plastics-Pacific, according to a news release. He started at GE in 1986 as a telecommunications engineer.
In his new position, Dineen succeeds Joseph Hogan, who left GE Healthcare to become CEO of the Zurich, Switzerland-based automation technology company ABB. Hogan, 51, joined GE in 1985. -- by Andis Robeznieks
