The CMS has postponed an update to the Hospital Compare Web site scheduled for today.
The updates were to include 30-day mortality data for pneumonia patients and two pediatric asthma clinical measures for some hospitals. Mortality rates for 30-day heart attack and heart failure outcomes also were to be updated. A CMS spokesman declined to say why the postponement was required. A new date to add the information has not been scheduled yet.
Data are supposed to be updated on a quarterly basis, the CMS said when it released results of its Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems patient-satisfaction survey in March.
