Prices for hospital services rose 0.3% in June, compared with 0.4% in May, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index. For the 12-month period ended in June, the index of hospital prices climbed 7.8%, compared with 5.8% for the year-ago period.
Physician prices also rose 0.3%, compared with 0.9% in May, figures show. For the 12-month period ended in June, the physician CPI rose 2.8%. For the year-ago period, the index for physician prices climbed 3.8%. -- by Melanie Evans
