In response to Jean DerGurahian's "Commission issues warning on unprofessional behavior":
I am very happy to see the Joint Commission take a serious stand on the unprofessional behavior evidenced in the patient-care setting. It has gotten progressively worse over the years.
I always marvel that these same people would never act this way in an outside social setting, and would be appalled if someone in their family was treated disrespectfully, yet feel free to belittle and demean in the workplace.

Maybe foolish standards lead to bad behavior
Most of the hostile or unprofessional behavior I have witnessed has occurred because the individuals are fed up with trying to comply with ridiculous standards that really have nothing to do with patient care.
This country had better wake up and realize who is ruining healthcare.
