Two organizations purchased the assets of Hooper Holmes claims-evaluation division in deals totaling $5.6 million, the company announced.
DDA Management Services bought Hooper Holmes D&D Associates, Allegiance Health and Medimax businesses in New York state; J&P Michigan Evaluation Group purchased the companys Michigan business. Hooper Holmes expects a net gain of $1 million from the transactions, which closed June 30.
Basking Ridge, N.J.-based Hooper Holmes sold the division so it could focus on core data collection and analytics business, officials said in a news release. The company provides data to insurers, arranges medical exams and processes laboratory specimens in addition to providing disease-management and underwriting services.
