Michael Anderson was named vice president and associate chief medical officer of Cleveland-based University Hospitals, effective July 1. Anderson, 44, has been a member of the pediatrics department at the systems Rainbow Babies & Childrens Hospital since 1996, including as director of pediatric emergency medical services.
Anderson also has been medical director of the pediatric intensive-care unit at MetroHealth Medical Center for the past five years, and he is an associate professor of pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University, both in Cleveland. He replaced Jan Harper in the executive position at University Hospitals, in which he will lead the systems efforts in quality, clinical risk management and other areas. -- by Gregg Blesch
