In its most pure form, I cannot imagine there would be push-back to the concept. However, I am not naive enough to think there wont be groups who feel their income stream is being threatened and will act accordingly.
We have found the model at the work site to be very accommodating and cost effective with great outcomes in many areas. One of the best impacts comes in the discovery of individuals who are asymptomatic but headed toward a large claim in the future without detection and intervention. Accessibility and financial incentives are certainly motivators for individuals to become engaged and compliant with the help of a qualified staff in a clinic.
It is an opportunity for an employer to offer a comprehensive program that integrates data from all segments and makes it available to the physician in order to treat the person holistically and not as a simple symptom or diagnosis. This makes much more sense than any of the political bantering going on at this point.
