The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology is looking for executives to serve on its 21-member board. Applications for 13 open positions will be accepted from July 1 to July 31 for two-year terms to begin in October, CCHIT announced.
Board commissioners oversee certification criteria, provide strategic direction and ensure CCHITs objectivity and credibility. Drawn from both the private and public sectors of healthcare and health IT, the commission sits at least two representatives from providers, payers and vendors as well as other stakeholder groups. CCHIT said applicants should submit resumes to [email protected]; appointments will be announced in September.
Chicago-based CCHIT recently finalized 2008 electronic health-record criteria it had been testing over the past several months. The commission reviews, tests and certifies EHR system capabilities for health IT vendors.
