Healthcare accrediting organization URAC has named Bernard Mansheim, a physician, chairman and announced the recently elected officers for its board of directors.
Mansheim, a member of the board since 2005, is certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. He has worked in medical management, in addition to serving in academic medicine and private practice. The other officers are: Marianne Fazen, executive director of the Dallas-Fort Worth Business Group on Health, vice chairwoman; Kylanne Green, chief administrative officer of Inova Health System, Falls Church, Va., treasurer; and Marlin Mattson, a physician and professor of clinical psychiatry at the Weill Cornell Medical College and the 2,205-bed New York-Presbyterian Hospital, secretary. Board members' ages were unavailable at deadline.
The two-year term ends in April 2010. URAC, which accredits more than 400 healthcare organizations in the U.S., covers health Web sites in addition to many functional aspects of care management in its standards.
