Tennessee awarded Affiliated Computer Services a five-year, $156 million contract to manage the states Medicaid program, the company announced.
Dallas-based ACS will manage data and ongoing systems as well as daily operations for the TennCare Management Information System, which hopes to use ACS expertise to enhance services, ACS said in a news release. ACS expects to develop a project management office to evaluate and monitor several technology projects that TennCare will conduct.
TennCare services about 1.2 million Medicaid beneficiaries in the state. ACS now manages Medicaid programs in 14 states and the District of Columbia.
