Royal Philips Electronics, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, will acquire the privately held Dixtal Biomedica e Tecnologia, a Sao Paulo, Brazil-based manufacturer of patient-monitoring, anesthesia and ventilation equipment, according to a news release.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the transaction is expected to close by September. The acquisition furthers Philips move into developing healthcare markets, particularly in the area of critical-care equipment, according to the news release.
