President Bush has named Thomas Barker to lead HHS 400 lawyers as acting general counsel, the department announced.
Barker, 48, has worked for HHS for seven years in a variety of positions, most recently as counselor for health policy. That position will be filled by Jim Stansel, who has been acting general counsel for the past two years, according to a news release. -- by Gregg Blesch
