McKesson Corp.s RelayHealth announced the acquisition of HTP, Columbus, Ohio. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
HTP sells a Web-based suite of revenue-cycle management products for hospitals, a claims-processing system for payers and a technology platform it is marketing to regional health information organizations, according to the companys Web site.
Dennis Swartzlander, HTP board chairman; Ray Shealy, HTP president and chief executive officer; and all employees will remain with the company in Columbus, according to Jim Bodenbender, senior vice president and general manager for RelayHealth, one of four healthcare information-technology business divisions of San Francisco-based McKesson.
Atlanta-based RelayHealth, a physician Web portal company, was purchased by McKesson in 2006, but gave its name to a new business unit for connectivity products and services during a McKesson reorganization in the middle of 2007 after the acquisition (Premium subscription required) of Per-Se Technologies earlier that year in January, Bodenbender said. -- by Joseph Conn
