The Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia, Mo., announced that Donna Krause was named chief information officer, effective Nov. 11, 2007. Krause, 50, served as acting CIO of the 118-bed hospital for about two months after Rex Toles retired last summer, according to a spokesman for the hospital.
Her career at the VA started in 1983 when she began as a pharmacy aide. Later she served in clerical positions and also as an automated data-processing application coordinator. Krause transferred to the 447-bed Richmond, Va.-based Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in 2002 to serve as the medical center clinical-application coordinator and returned the next year to Truman VA to hold the same position. As CIO, Krause will oversee the management of all computer operations and applications at the Columbia facility.
