Tenet Healthcare Corp., Dallas, said Peter Urbanowicz, the companys general counsel and secretary for four years, is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities, effective immediately. Urbanowicz, 44, joined the company and was appointed secretary in December 2003 after having served as deputy general counsel of HHS, Tenet said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission late last month.
In his four years with Tenet, Mr. Urbanowicz managed the companys resolution of issues with the United States Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission and other civil matters facing the company, said Trevor Fetter, Tenets president and chief executive officer, in a company news release. Urbanowicz did not announce his next step, according to a spokesman in the companys investor relations department. -- by Jessica Zigmond
