The medical products and services company Cardinal Health, Dublin, Ohio, announced it will acquire Enturia, a Leawood, Kan.-based company specializing in infection-prevention and wound-care products, for $490 million.
The purchase agreement includes Enturias ChloraPrep line of infection-prevention products, which are used to disinfect skin prior to surgery. The line will expand Cardinals existing infection-control products offerings, which currently include electronic surveillance services, medical products and barrier apparel.
Enturia, a privately held company, generated some $140 million in revenue during its fiscal 2007. Cardinal officials expect the deal to close within 60 days following the customary regulatory approval process, according to a company news release. The acquisition is expected to be slightly dilutive to Cardinal Healths fiscal 2008 earnings and accretive thereafter. -- by Shawn Rhea
