Methodist Health System, Dallas, has named Michael Mayo as president of its 453-bed Methodist Dallas Medical Center, effective April 8. Mayo, 53, will succeed Kim Hollon, who will leave the Methodist Health System on Feb. 29 after 20 years with the system. Hollon has accepted a position as executive vice president and chief executive officer of Excela Health in Westmoreland County, Pa., according to a spokeswoman for Methodist.
Since 2001, Mayo has worked at HCA, where most recently he served as the chief executive officer of Orange Park (Fla.) Memorial Hospital. His other experience includes serving as the chief operating officer for West Florida Hospital in Pensacola and Memorial Hospital Jacksonville (Fla.). Mayo earned a masters degree in healthcare administration from Texas Womens University and began his career at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas 25 years ago.
