TelaDoc, a Dallas-based network of primary-care physicians, appointed Richard Boxer, M.D., to the new position of chief medical liaison. Boxer, 60, is a professor of clinical urology at the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Fla.; University of Wisconsin at Madison; and Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. In 1997, Boxer received the National Award for Excellence in Urology from the American Urological Association, and in 1995, he was appointed by President Clinton to the National Cancer Advisory Board where he served for seven years. He also served as U.S. delegate to the World Health Organization in 1997, served on the Presidents Task Force on Healthcare Reform in 1993 and 1994, and was on the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases advisory board between 1994 and 1998.
