The Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology will gauge the network certification needs and market readiness of health information exchanges through a survey.
The survey asks HIEs, or any group that defines themselves as health information networks, about their stage of development, the type of data primarily exchanged, and whether certification would bring value to their network. Participants can submit comments and feedback directly to CCHIT, which will use the results in consideration of its network program, the third phase of its federally funded certification program expansion.
Participants can access the survey until March 15 and will have an opportunity to make additional comments on the network program criteria and test scripts in April.
The network program is expected to be released in late September.
