Prematics has named Kevin Hutchinson, former head of SureScripts, as its president and chief executive officer.
Hutchinson, 44, left SureScripts last month. He will be responsible for building Bethesda, Md.-based Prematics' next stage of growth, which includes increasing physician adoption of electronic prescribing, the company said.
Prematics provides clinical information technology products for physician practices.
Hutchinson joined SureScripts as president and CEO in 2001 after serving as chief operating officer of MedicaLogic/Medscape, which develops electronic health records. He will continue to serve as a member of the American Health Information Community, representing prescription drug and laboratory sectors of the healthcare industry.
