Richard Henley, president and CEO of Pocono Health System and Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, Pa., resigned last month to pursue other opportunities. Henley, 51, a Star Student in the Modern Healthcare Up & Comers Yearbook, class of 1993, joined Pocono in December 2005. Kathleen Kuck, 54, vice president of patient care services, will serve as interim COO. Jewish Hospital & St. Marys HealthCare, Louisville, Ky., named Martin Bonick president and CEO of the Jewish Hospital Medical Campus and vice president of the health system. Hes scheduled to take control Feb. 18, the health system said. Bonick, 34, replaces Timothy Jarm, a Modern Healthcare Up & Comer, who resigned in March 2007. Bonick most recently was CEO of Oklahoma State University Medical Center, Tulsa. Tom Arnold was named CFO and vice president of finance for Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta. Arnold, 48, replaces Charlie Hall, who became executive vice president and CFO for Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare after Jeffrey Crudele left last year. Crudele now serves as CFO of Hospital Partners of America, Charlotte, N.C. Arnold served previously as vice president of finance and CFO of Rockdale Medical Center, Conyers, Ga. Palmetto Behavioral Health, Charleston, S.C., said it promoted Marc Turner to COO, effective Jan. 1. He succeeds Cherie Tolley, who became the systems CEO last year. Turner, 49, most recently served as vice president of product integrity and compliance officer at Palmetto.
On the move
Toni Hatch took over as executive vice president of provider services at Arbor Healthcare, Franklin, Tenn., a healthcare claims company specializing in resolving payment errors. Hatch, 57, was previously senior director of patient financial services for Community Health Systems. Robert Cullen is out as president and CEO of Thomson Healthcare, the Stamford, Conn.-based healthcare information company, and Mike Boswood is in, with both changes effective Jan. 4, a company spokeswoman confirmed. No public announcement was made, according to Nikki Wheeler, spokeswoman for Thomson Healthcare. Boswood most recently served as president and CEO of its London-based international legal and regulatory business unit, Wheeler said. Thomson produces the annual 100 Top Hospitals list, which is published exclusively in Modern Healthcare.
