Palmetto Behavioral Health, Charleston, S.C., said it promoted Marc Turner as chief operating officer, effective Jan. 1. He succeeds Cherie Tolley, who became the systems chief executive officer last year. Turner, 49, has worked at Palmetto Behavioral Health since it was established in 2000, and most recently served as vice president of product integrity and compliance officer. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he earned a masters of science degree at North Carolina State University.
In his new role, Turner will oversee all operations at the systems largest facility, Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Hospital in North Charleston, which provides both adult and adolescent acute-psychiatric and substance-abuse treatment. It also offers psychiatric residential treatment services.
Palmetto offers services for children, adolescents, adults and seniors in private inpatient and outpatient settings at four facilities: Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Hospital and Palmetto Behavioral Health Solutions in North Charleston, Palmetto Pee Dee Behavioral Health, Florence; and Palmetto Pines Behavioral Health, Summerville. -- by Jessica Zigmond
