The second National Emergency Management Summit is scheduled for Feb. 3-5 at the Renaissance Washington (D.C.) Hotel. The summit aims to assess the risk of epidemic, natural disaster and terrorism, as well as address practical approaches to strategies of planning, response and recovery. Participants include David Nabarro, U.N. assistant secretary-general and system senior coordinator for avian and human influenza; and Georges Benjamin, executive director of the American Public Health Association.
