Obstetrician/gynecologist Robin Richman, M.D., was hired as the new chief medical officer at Fallon Clinic, a Worcester, Mass.-based independent, multispecialty practice with 26 locations and nearly 260 physicians. Richman, 55, replaces Marc Greenwald, M.D., who left in October 2006. Most recently, Richman was the vice president of patient safety and risk management for Atrius Health, a Newton, Mass.-based alliance of five medical groups, which was formerly known as the HealthOne Care System. Prior to that, Richman was the specialty director of OB/GYN services for one of those groupsHarvard Vanguard Medical Associatesand led a team that included 60 physicians and 20 midwives, a news release said. Richman also worked for two years as the CMO for Tufts Health Care Institute, Boston, where she directed educational programs on patient safety, performance improvement, communication and teamwork. From 1995 to 2001, she was vice president and medical director of Tufts Health Plan, where she managed a 50-person, $10 million clinical quality division and served as chair of the womens health subcommittee of the American Association of Health Plans, the health insurance trade association now known as Americas Health Insurance Plans. Richman is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia.
