A conference on emergency-management planning regarding people with disabilities and special needs is scheduled for Jan. 8-9 at the Capitol Hilton, Washington. The Disability and Special Needs Technical Assistance Conference aims to bring together federal, state and local experts to discuss challenges in disaster planning regarding vulnerable populations. Speakers include Hilary Styron, director of the National Organization on Disabilitys Emergency Preparedness Initiative, and Cindy Daniel, national disability coordinator at the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
