Palmetto Behavioral Health, Charleston, S.C., said it has named McBee Zimmerman as executive director of the 60-bed residential treatment facility, effective immediately. Most recently, Zimmerman, whose age was unavailable, was the director of Shelter Services with Carolina Youth Development. Her previous experience also includes managing a private practice and serving as a therapist at the Medical University of South Carolina.
A licensed professional counselor, Zimmerman earned a bachelors degree in psychology from the College of Charleston and a masters of education degree in clinical counseling from the Citadel. She has focused on substance abuse, self-injury, trauma and eating disorders.
Palmetto Behavioral Health treats individuals and families living with mental illness and addictive disorders, and its psychiatric programs and services are offered through private inpatient and outpatient settings at four facilities: Palmetto Lowcountry Behavioral Hospital, Palmetto Behavioral Health Solutions, Palmetto Pee Dee Behavioral Health and Palmetto Pines Behavioral Health. -- by Jessica Zigmond
