Collexis Holdings, a Columbia, S.C.-based developer of search and knowledge-discovery software, announced that Ron Ribitzky, senior healthcare strategist with Intel Corp.'s Digital Health Group, will join the Collexis scientific advisory board Jan. 3.
"We created the scientific advisory board to ensure we're going in the right direction," said Darrell Gunter, Collexis executive vice president and chief marketing officer. "You don't want to build something and then nobody shows up. ... He (Ribitzky) is giving me ideas on how best to relate to this particular community."
Gunter added that advisory board members are not paid for their service.
Ribitzky, 55, also heads R&D Ribitzky, a bio-medical informatics and healthcare information technology industry consulting service, according to a news release. Prior to joining Intel in 2005, Ribitzky was vice president of advanced research at Eclipsys, and previously worked as director of applications at Children's Hospital Boston. -- by Andis Robeznieks
