SSM Healthcare-St. Louis, a six-hospital division of the Catholic health system SSM Healthcare, said it will reorganize its operations into two geographic regions and promoted two executives to newly created positions. Effective Jan. 1, Mike Graue will become executive vice president of operations for the three-hospital southern region, which also includes a 100-bed rehab hospital in St. Louis. Graue is SSM Healthcare-St. Louis executive vice president of network operations. Steve Johnson, president of 460-bed SSM DePaul Health Center, Bridgeton, Mo., has been named executive vice president of the three-hospital northern region, also effective Jan. 1. The system said a search is under way to fill a third newly created role: regional vice president and chief nursing officer.
Sherlyn Hailstone, president of 270-bed SSM St. Joseph Health Center, St. Charles, Mo., has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer of the 160-bed SSM Cardinal Glennon Childrens Medical Center, St. Louis. Hailstone will assume her new post once her successor has been named, said Tom Miller, a spokesman for SSM Healthcare-St. Louis. -- by Melanie Evans
