Two convenient-care facilities located inside Hy-Vee Food Stores in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and operated by Sioux City, Iowa-based Curaquick Clinics in partnership with the 375-bed St. Lukes Hospital, also in Cedar Rapids, have closed after just a few months operation.
The hospital released a statement that said Curaquicks rapid expansion throughout Iowa outpaced growth, and they are unable to continue operations in Cedar Rapids.
The clinics opened Aug. 8, according to an earlier hospital news release. That release said patients paid $40 a visit and were seen by nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Information on how many patients were seen at the clinics was unavailable at deadline. (For more on convenient-care clinics, see the story Look who's buying retail.) -- by Andis Robeznieks
