Ascension Health, St. Louis, named Ruth Brinkley to succeed Sally Jeffcoat as president and chief executive officer of Carondelet Health Network, Tucson, Ariz., and West ministry market leader for the Catholic health system. Brinkley, 55, president and CEO of Memorial Health Care System, Chattanooga, Tenn., is expected to join Ascension on Dec. 31.
As an Ascension ministry market leader, Brinkley will oversee strategic positioning and operational performance for Carondelet Health Network, as well as for the Kansas City, Mo.-based Carondelet Health System; Lourdes Health Network, Pasco, Wash.; and St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Lewiston, Idaho. Jeffcoat, 54, was promoted to Ascensions executive vice president and chief operating officer for healthcare operations earlier this year.
