Tenet Healthcare Corp., Dallas, says it has sold 46-bed Shelby Regional Medical Center in Center, Texas, to Shelby Medical Holdings, owned by Tariq Mahmood, M.D., for $2 million. Mahmood, an internist, operates three hospitals in central Texas. Tenet acquired the hospital in 2000 for $2.7 million in the bankruptcy case filed by New American Healthcare Corp., Brentwood, Tenn.
