Mitre Corp. and the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology will hold a briefing Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. EST, to discuss updates to the Laika project, an open-source software testing framework that will aid vendors in preparing their electronic health-record software for the CCHIT certification process.
The Laika framework aims to test EHR software and verify that vendors' product support standards-based information exchange capabilities in compliance with CCHIT requirements.
The free testing framework will be distributed via an Apache 2.0 open-source license and is scheduled for release in March 2008, according to a Mitre news release. The McLean, Va.-based not-for-profit manages federally funded research centers and helps companies with their healthcare IT initiatives.
