John Finn has decided to leave as president of the Metropolitan Hospital Council of New Orleans after 22 years, effective at year-end, the council said.
Finn, 64, told the councils board last month that he was leaving because the council would be best served by a president who will stay in the position for the long term, as the citys healthcare system continues to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.
Finn, who has a total of 27 years as a hospital association administrator, said in the councils news release that he will seek another positionAnything but another association executive position, he joked. -- by Vince Galloro
