Greene Health Partners, a one-hospital system in Xenia, Ohio, has formed an affiliation with Kettering Health Network, a four-hospital system based in Dayton, Ohio.
Under a joint operating agreement announced Oct. 30, both organizations retain ownership of their assets, Greene spokesman Bob Jackson said.
In addition to 111-bed Greene Memorial Hospital in Xenia, Greene Health Partners includes assisted-living facilities, an addiction-treatment center for women and community health centers. Kettering has made a commitment to invest $10 million to renovate and expand services at those facilities, according to a fact sheet distributed after the announcement. The systems also will consider building new facilities in the area west of Dayton served by Greene Health Partners, but a new hospital at another site would not be a replacement for Greene Memorial.
Greene Memorial receives taxpayer support through a levy in Greene County, and that revenue will continue to flow directly to Greene Memorial, according to the fact sheet. -- by Gregg Blesch
