Four people have been elected to the 14-member board of directors of the Ann Arbor, Mich.-based standards development organization, Health Level Seven.
Elected for two-year terms for 2008-09, were treasurer Dan Russler, vice president of clinical informatics, Oracle Corp.; and directors-at-large, Hans Buitendijk, product manager, Siemens Medical Solutions USA; Linda Fischetti, acting chief health informatics officer and director, HealthePeople, the Veterans Affairs Department; and Michael van Campen, president, Gordon Point Informatics, Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Van Campen also serves as chairman of HL7 Canada.
In addition, John Quinn was named chief technology officer of HL7. Quinn will lead HL7's technical steering committee as well as oversee the delivery of standards and "implement HL7's product and services strategy" with HL7 Chief Executive Officer Charles Jaffe, according to a news release. -- by Joseph Conn / HITS staff writer
